As it sits right now pond owners in Saskatchewan are only allowed to stock trout. There is no reasonable foundation for this decision, if someone sinks thousands of dollars into building a pond that has no chance of fish escape why bar them the ability to add Bass, Bluegill or even crappie to their pond? These fish would have a hard time surviving without human help since our water is usually too cold for them in the winter. This needs to be changed not only to give land owners more freedom but also to help diversify our fishing opportunity in Saskatchewan.
