10:00 AM School Start Time is PROBLEMATIC.

1. inconvenience

Many after-school employment opportunities begin at 4 PM or sooner. 

Students who have extracurricular activities need time to travel for early appointments, commitment to community teams and clubs. Many students will be forced to leave the academic classroom early on a regular basis which will inevitably yield a higher chance of receiving lower grades.

2. Health

Mental health, stress, and anxiety are relevant when time is restrained for shrinking travel, work, and study timing. 

3. 9:00 AM-3:00 PM are perfect instructional hours for a student. It allows and forces youth to wake up, prepare and move to start their day prior to 10 AM. It allows for reasonable and optimal sleep time even for those late-night people. Healthy Active Living is a school and Ontario Curricular value.
