The people of Wingate have concerns over road safety in the village caused by the current infrastructure of our roads. It is proposed that some of these issues could be alleviated by reducing the congestion caused by the current layout of the roads. Specifically we believe that Durham County Council should remove the pinch point on North Road between Dobson Terrace and Vicarage Estate and replace this with traffic calming that allows traffic to flow on both sides of the road and retains a safe crossing point for pedestrians.
