Durant is the only town in its area to refuse to pass a mask mandate. This is extremely dangerous, since November 24 2020, Bryan County had 459 active cases of COVID-19 and 18 reported COVID-19 related deaths. The city manager still refuses to do it. Southeastern State Oklahoma University and the public schools can do it so why not the whole town? I can't walk into Walmart without seeing mask-less people wheezing and coughing everywhere. Many others and myself say they do not feel safe in Durant, and just get laughed at and told 'it's a free country'. Please force Durant to pass a mask mandate so we can be safe again!
