Duolingo is the most downloaded language learning app thanks to its free language teaching feature. In this application, where many people develop languages, languages ​​that are in danger of extinction such as Latin and Hawaiian are taught as well as popular languages. It is an application that draws attention with the teaching of languages ​​such as Esperanto, an artificial language spoken by minorities such as Catalan. However, this language, like Kurdish, whose future is in danger, which is spoken by a large minority and which attracts the attention of those living in the same lands as the Kurds, is unfortunately still not taught.

Today, more than 50 million Kurds worldwide live and speak Kurdish, mostly in the lands between southeastern Turkey, northeastern Syria, northern Iraq and northeastern Iran. Although the Kurds have preserved their culture and language until today, unfortunately, they are starting to forget to speak, write and read Kurdish because they cannot receive education in their mother tongue. In addition, people living in the same geography with them want to learn this language, but they cannot find quality applications such as Duolingo, which teaches Kurdish, causing them difficulties in this regard.

It is very important for Kurds not to be assimilated, and having an app like Duolingo that teaches their language means a lot to them because Duolingo is a world-renowned application and the addition of a Kurdish course to this application, which has millions of users, is a symbol of respect and recognition for Kurds who cannot find their deserved place even in virtual environments.
