In light of Duke's resumption of COVID restrictions for fully vaccinated students, we call upon the University's Administration to reverse this unreasonable and illogical policy. This recent guidance goes against the CDC's current recommendations for vaccinated individuals and demonstrates an utter lack of trust in the developed vaccines. As the school acknowledges, 98% and 92% of the student and employee populations are fully vaccinated, respectively. Nonetheless, the University again requires mask use outside, bans indoor dining, and limits outdoor social gatherings, just as it did before the vaccine. 

In addition, the University did not adequately consult with the student body before making this decision, and it continues to be dismissive of the severe physical and mental effects of their continued restrictions. For each and every Duke student bearing the brunt of Duke's misguided COVID policies, this petition is for you. We encourage the Duke Administration to trust the science, truly care for your students' health, and reverse this harmful decision.
