Stop Duffy's circus using animals in their shows.
The Issue
Nothing makes me angrier than the circus using animals (wild/non wild alike). I think they should be released back into the wild. The circus should be about acrobatics and performances by humans and not animals. Sea lions should not spend their lives trapped inside 20x10ft water filled box, their animals should not have to endure being stuck inside a cage whilst they are shipped around the country and have to live through harsh winters like their elephants. The Waterford animal welfare has been on site to keep an eye on whats going on and they say that ''there is no abuse of animals going on''. Well I call bullshit because the entrapment of these animals and having them whipped and paraded around in front of a couple of a hundred people every evening is abuse in its self. No sea lion should have to spend a hot summers day sat in a field across from the beach in Tramore the same as no tiger should be kept in a cage all day. These animals are lucky if they get a balanced meal everyday. They have their teeth and claws removed, get shocked in order to do "tricks" no routine, no real safety home, unnatural living accommodation. What I hope to achieve by you signing this petition is that we can show not only Duffy's circus but every circus that comes through town is that they are not welcome whilst using animals in their shows. Just maybe this might make them change their routine for next year and only have humans in their shows if they see that enough people really do care. Maybe if this gets enough attention then maybe other people will follow and show the circus that they are not welcome in their town whilst using these animals as stunt monkeys and bringing an end to this sort of thing. I'm sick and tired of these circuses making money off these poor defenseless animals, are you?
