🎉 Dubuque Protest March 8th 🎉

‼️ The citizens of Dubuque have lost faith in the Sheriff's department, and we do not believe that the best people for the job are being put into our offices.

We are overwhelmed at all the support!!! Not Left, Not Right, We are United in saving our children!!!!! 

On March 4th, 2025 Dubuque County Sheriff Office made a Facebook post announcing their new deputy, Matt Pothoff. The post quickly gained comments of concern, because a report had been found from the Dyersville Commercial. It revealed that in 2017 Matt Pothoff had sexual abuse charges brought against him. The city of Dubuque felt someone with this background created a bias in their sheriff office and wanted a better choice for the job.

They petitioned for over 19,000 signatures, and he resigned.

Dubuque citizens wondered why Matt Pothoff would even be considered for the position. They thought maybe because his father, Harley, is County Supervisor and his brother, Luke is currently Sheriff. After Matt Pothoff resigned, Dubuque citizens felt great unrest with their Sheriff department. They have started reaching out to each other to get petitions signed.

Now we have been made aware of the Brian Spencer family, who believes their son's case was seriously mishandled by Dyersville/Dubuque police.
