Plead to resume offline classes at DTU from 4th Semester (B-Tech)
The Issue
I'm a second year Computer Engineering student (DTU) in my third semester. In a matter of 5-6 months, interns and placements will be on our heads. The 'college life' we all dreamt of having has been curtained by the continuous and monotonous conduction of online classes.
Engineering colleges of Delhi like IIT Delhi, IIIT Delhi, IGDTUW, etc. have resumed their offline classes(or atleast have an option for offline classes) so why should DTU be left behind? A university as highly esteemed as DTU is still conducting online classes and our education is being highly jeopardized. A lot of students are worried about their career development.
The administration has tried its best to adapt to the online presets and we really do appreciate their efforts in trying to provide us with top quality education through online mode. We are thankful to all our professors who taught us with pure delight and gradually made us better at our craft including answering our doubts and problems.
But the downsides of online mode are that we have gained zero hands on experience, minimal work education, no practical knowledge and no social development. Since everything is online, some students have developed that 'lay-back' attitudes inside themselves resulting in their demotivation towards studies.
We have had 1.5 years of college at home and would really appreciate the re-opening of our college since the situation of COVID has curbed down and everything is opening up! We all would love to learn the real way which is obviously more effective. Nobody would want their degree to be completed online.
And since the pandemic has been controlled ~ with an average of less than 10 cases being reported everyday in the national capital & since most of the students have been vaccinated twice, I think we all agree that the college can be opened in phases from the 4th semester by taking precautionary measures.
