During this massive emergency of COVID-19, while no evident relief is given to the middle class in the economic packages announced by the govt., the middle class continues to suffer with job loss, pay cuts, massive bills and EMIs hounding them, where the exorbitant fee hikes plus the apathy displayed by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development tops the list of the woes.

Yes, I would call it an indifferent attitude of MHRD where lakhs of parents are being vocal about their economic conditions and asking the govt to tame the fee mongers who we sadly call as 'Schools'. At various places in India, schools continue to charge not only the hiked fee but are pressurizing the parents to pay full fee rather than the tuition fee which would be justified where students are not utilizing any of the school infrastructure including transport.

Why our plea is falling on the deaf ears of MHRD? What is stopping them to issue one clear directive (and not an advisory) to schools across India? What platform shall we use so as to be heard by the Ministry? I myself has sent out thrice a letter of plea mentioning the cruel attitude of schools and plight of parents. But I never received back any acknowledgment of those.

One the behalf of 1,20,000 parents here and lakhs of them outside on other platforms, I wish to ask the govt that what way should we choose so as to be heard by you and for you to issue a clear directive across all states?

Thanks and Regards

Amarpreet Kaur
