Eli has already been through horrific things in their life and came to Aotearoa New Zealand ad a refugee,  it's their safe haven. Eli, like many other members of the LGBTQIA+ community,  are afraid of the latest increase in anti-trans rhetoric and we are not going to sit idly and watch our rights be taken away ,nor let someone call out a public event, calling for the removal of our rights.

A symbolic soup shower on someone who wanta to strip your human rights ,is NOT assault nor violent! She wasnt hurt ,she wasnt harmed and she wasnt threatened. Bruised egos are not good enough reason to prosecute someone. 

We have freedom of protest in this country and Eli simply exercised theirs!
