It has been widely reported that the top-two-primary system in California opens the door for a MAGA candidate to be Governor even though Democrats have the vast majority of votes. Right now the chances of this happening are about 1 in 4, if Democrat votes remain divided amongst eight candidates.

However, there are some Democrats in the race that have almost no chance of winning. If they were to get out of the race, the chance of a MAGA upset win is zero. These candidates need to drop out: Betty Yee, Antonio Villagairosa, Tony Thurmond, Xavier Becerra, Matt Mahan. All have less than 5% support in voter polls. They cannot win, but they can attract enough votes for MAGA to sneak into BOTH top two spots in the June primary, leaving Democrats off the November ballot and with no path to Governor.

The Chair of the California Democratic Party is calling on non-viable candidates not to run, but he doesn't have the courage to name names and is too weak to actually make it happen. So, it's up to us!

Sign this petition to call on the bottom tier candidates to do the right thing, put California ahead of their personal interests, and get out of this race. We cannot afford to hand California over to a MAGA Governor that will capitulate to Trump and put all Californians at risk.
