A 22 year old woman was arrested outside St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh on the 11th of August 2022. She held a sign that protested the monarchy and imperialism. She was arrested for “breaching the peace”. She has now been charged. 

She did not attack anyone. She merely held a sign. And for that, the police deemed her a breach of the peace. Such an action is in clear violation of the right for free speech and borders on fascist behaviour.

This woman must have the right to express her opinion against imperialist dogma without fear of arrest or intervention by higher authorities.
