Hi all, we're looking to build interested and momentum in an idea we have, we would like to build a pump track in Droitwich.

We have the location in mind, the old waste land at the end of the S-bend fields. We have a Facebook page with 500+ followers, we've build our project proposal and have got backing from local councillors, local police officers and have joined forces with Droitwich Cycling club. We've also retrieved quotes from the best in the business at getting these built, which isn't going to come cheap.

We're looking at support from the local council, British Cycling, lottery grants and other various grants to get the funding. We're also looking for local communities to come together and donate, businesses that would like to be involved and assist with funding or work to reduce potential costs. 

We will have a Just Giving page and a community bank account to collect funds together shortly, but in the meantime we need signatures to show there is a want and need in our town.

We're looking to help build not just a pump track but a local community. A project that brings people together, giving people of all ages a free and enjoyable way to exercise and make new friends.

I know personally that the town had very little to offer for the younger generation from when I was growing up. Sadly, I believe there is even less now. Kids on bikes, scooters and skateboards seem to be pushed aside and forgotten about or moved on to another location, anywhere that's not 'in the way causing nuisance". Well this gives them somewhere to go, helps them learn new skills, make new friends. This gives people a place to learn how to ride a bike safely. We have tracks across the country that have been a massive success and I see no reason this can't have the same effect.
