Driver gets a ticket for taking a Life
The Issue
A life was taken from a good man. But because of South Carolina laws, you or your family could be the next victim. This was preventable. Help stop this now, it only takes a second to sign. Save other victims. Save your loved one and yourself.
I am doing this because my family and many others have been affected by this act that seems to be happening when State Troopers and Police officers as well favor criminals over victims. My life long friend, my family member was on his way to work. This girl, hit him in the back going 70 mph. She never hit her brakes. Hitting him is what stopped her Jeep. She was unharmed and accepted her 6th speeding ticket. And continues to travel the world. While we were left traumatized and will never be the same. Bryan Cartee's life was worth so much more than a traffic ticket and small fine. He was going to work, sitting still in backed up traffic on the interstate. He did not deserve this.
My nephew was just killed in 2020 from a negligent driver who left him on the side of the road and the offender went home and tried to hide evidence. If you think it can not happen to you then think again.
In 2021 there were 42,915 deaths from negligent drivers. There is 17,250 car crashes a day nationwide. Car accidents are the 3rd leading cause of deaths, right after heart disease and cancer. The number one reason is speeding. 1 in 103 people will die from traffic accident . And what makes matters worse is that so many offenders get a traffic ticket for killing someone. I personally never knew this until now. Sad that these acute speeders get a slap on the hand. And show no remorse at all. Disregard for others and the law.
Please sign this petition in hopes that enough signatures will make a difference in this horrific, traumatic thing that has happened. Someone who knowingly drives while passing out is no different from a impaired driver. Everyone near her on any road is at risk. She should not have a right to drive. Or have a right to walk freely while this family walks in deep darkness now.
