The DVSA have announced that Hyde Driving Test Centre will close in April, with no plans to open another test centre in the area and without any consultation taking place with local instructors. 
This will have a huge financial impact on people wanting to learn to drive in Hyde and the surrounding areas. With current test centres being located so far away, longer driving lessons will be required, putting further pressure on driving instructors who are already busier than they’ve ever been. 
Hyde Driving Test Centre has served the Tameside and Glossop community for many years and if the DVSA feel that the current location on Perrin Street no longer serves its purpose, then alternative premises need to be sourced to relocate it.
