The dress code is a sexist, outdated, and completely unfair set of rules that we are forced to comply with. The thing is, it promotes rape culture, and it tells girls that their education isn't as important as another boy in her class. Modern-day stores don't sell summer close that obliges your dress code. We aren't going to sit around while our bodies - the bodies of young girls - are sexualized and we are dehumanized. If we don't do this, we will continue to be sexualized, dehumanized, and told that we aren't as important as a boy who isn't making an effort in school. Whoever signs this petition is telling you that our bodies aren't objects, and we are people with opinions. Even though you went along with these rules, we won't.
