For the past 40+ years at least the American system has not worked for the American people. The American system that is supposed to be a "Government of the People, By the people, and for the People" as stated by the Great Abraham Lincoln has not fulfilled its duty to the American people. Instead, America has a government of Corporate interests, by Corporate interests, and for Corporate interests. This must change or else We The People will continue to suffer at the hands of corporations who want to keep us down. 

Voting for the same politicians that have been complicit in this system (Chuck Schumer) and many who have helped create it (Also Chuck Schumer), will not get us anywhere. We want a serious candidate who means what he says and says what he means. The proposed voice for the whole of America in this petition is none other than Jon Stewart. This is not the first petition that has been made in order to get Jon Stewart in the presidential race, but I hope it will be the last. You may be saying as you read this that, "wait a minute, Jon Stewart is a comedian, what good would he be as president?"

Well I will tell you, Jon Stewart has been a political voice for 20+ years, criticizing establishment politicians who have no interest in making America work for Americans. Stewart's added comedic twists to his criticisms and points do not make his points any less valid, they really just make them a tiny teeny weenie bit easier to stomach. 

As far as Stewart's positions I will let you research him yourself some what but allow me to give you a quick run down just so you can get a feel for what kind of candidate he would be. Jon Stewart has been a vocal proponent of making healthcare more accessible for working Americans. Jon Stewart has been a proponent for LGBT rights as humans. Stewart has been against forever wars for as long as anyone can remember. He has confronted congress on the steps of Capitol Hill when they were failing to meet the needs of American Veterans and American First Responders when he was fighting for the PACT Act.

Jon Stewart is an anti-establishment guy who will fight for every American who has been done an injustice by the system that is supposed to work for us. Jon Stewart has one of the most important qualities desired in a leader. He knows what he knows, and he knows what he does not know. He has spent the last 20+ years asking experts about our institutions, what the problems our with our institutions, and asking how we could solve these problems. 

If you are hesitant about supporting Stewart for President, I understand, but I would implore you to do some more research into the man than I am able to lay out for you here. Keep up with what Stewart says and addresses in the media and on the Daily Show, Go listen to The Weekly Show with Jon Stewart podcast, and go back and watch his work on "The Problem" with Jon Stewart so you can get a better view of where Stewart stands on issues and if you like what he is then come back and sign this petition.

Remember this is not a man who wants to even run for president, which for me, makes him all the more qualified to do so. I am confident that if enough people call on him, he will answer the call and he will fight for working people in this country.
