Removal of President and Confederate Stephen D. Lee's Bust on MSU Campus

The Issue

General Stephen D. Lee was Mississippi State University's first president. He also served in the Confederate army as an upholder of slavery and a traitor to our nation. Mississippi State cannot claim to care about its Black students, athletes, faculty, and staff, so long as it allows his statue to remain on the Drill Field. We took down the racist state flag years ago, and now it is time to propel ourselves forward by removing the shackles of our racist past. Please sign this petition in support of the removal of his bust. If we stand together with one voice, Dr. Keenum will hear us.
