Rename the Andrew College soccer field to "Bryan Austin Douglas Memorial field"
The Andrew College Men's soccer program suffered a loss of a beloved teammate last Wednesday. Bryan Austin Douglas was a student and athlete at Andrew College located in Cuthbert, Georgia. Austin was someone who could light up a room with his contagious laugh and smile. He always went out of his way to make his fellow students and teammates smile. Austin was a great friend and an even better teammate. It was Austin's dream to play the sport he loved at the collegiate level. Coach Taylor gave Austin his first offer and he was shocked, he couldn't believe that a college coach had offered him to play. Austin was at loss for words, but he was honored and determined to continue his soccer career. The short time we had with Austin will never be forgotten and we want to honor him in every way possible to show our gratitude for the impact he had on our lives. We want to come together as a community and a family to continue his legacy by renaming the field "Bryan Austin Douglas Memorial soccer field". By doing this we will ensure Austin's dream and legacy stay alive, while also paying tribute to Austin and his family. This decision can only be made by the Andrew College president Dr. Linda R. Buchanan.
