Name Plainedge HS Auditorium in honor & memory of Mr. Gerald J. Kirby

The Issue

Gerald J. Kirby was a beloved teacher of English and drama at Plainedge High School for 42 years.  He passed away January 7, 2017

Mr. Kirby was very well respected by many students at Plainedge over the years. He influenced and inspired many students throughout his years at Plainedge. From English class to drama class to directing, choreographing and producing countless senior plays, he will always be remembered fondly, with respect and love, by all whose lives he touched.

We, the Alumni of Plainedge High School, respectfully request that the auditorium in the High School be named the Gerald J. Kirby Performing Arts Theater and dedicated in honor of our beloved Mr. Kirby.

Thank you.
