Notice- This petition and project to better our schools does not happen with just one person. In order to fully get the perspective of the failures of our current school system, we need to be able to look at eachother's experiences as a community and talk about what needs to be done. Please tell us your story. Use the "why I'm signing" feature on this site or use #PetersonStepDown on social media and tell your experiences you've had under Dennis Peterson's administration. In order to explain why individuals don't fit our culture and standards, we need to stand bravely as a community.
As the person in control of our schools, the superintendent should be someone who cares about our lives.

He was abrasive with his lack of care in response to BIPOC students voicing their hurt, earlier in the summer. Now his current statements regarding COVID-19 which blatantly show his lack of care for student's and staff's lives and safety are circulating in the news, which is why this is pertinent to discuss here and now.
At the recent board meeting to finalize the distance/hybrid plan, he made broad, grandiose statements that showed he did not put any bit of critical thinking into the media he consumed, with him comparing COVID-19 to the flu, and with stating that we can and should go back to in-person schooling, along with others. When that person, taking in wrong and harmful "science", is in charge of a school district, that could be catastrophic to human life.
When further reprimanded on his choices of sources, he doubled down on his faulty sayings, and refused to change or listen, despite his words being potentially deadly to people in our district.
Get him off our administration. We cannot be entertaining this situation, when he is quite literally endangering lives.
He needs us to have his position, but we do not need him to be students. He cannot stop the rallies of the many.
