I am a senior at Basha High School in Chandler, Arizona. A few years ago my family got a call about one of our very close friends passing away. She was headed home when she received a text message, she took her eyes off the road and went to respond. She lost control of the vehicle, went off the road, and down an embankment. That night my family realized how important it was to not text while driving. On most days I pass by at least one car accident, the majority of which are caused by texting while driving. It is a problem in our state. It is important to have a law passed against texting while driving. By passing this law it will lower the amount of accidents in Arizona.
