Put Sexual Assault/Coercion Awareness in Ontario's SexEd Curriculum

The Issue

Teenagers need to be able to recognize signs of sexual assault and coercion. Many young adults have lived their lives unaware that many of their sexual experiences were actually forms of assault. Learning this years after the assault took place not only puts a strain on their ability to form healthy relationships but lets their abuser live their life freely without taking accountability for the pain they placed upon their victims. Information and education around what sexual assault looks and sounds like can help young adults recognize it and hopefully prevent its occurrence.
