This petition is asking for your support to allow local, insured, licensed, properly certified mobile food vendors to be able to sell their products on city property, particularly city parks.

City parks are the hub of activity for most local citizens, however, local mobile food vendors are not allowed in city parks. While there is no city ordinance or departmental policy prohibiting mobile food vending in city parks, they are consistently told to leave the properties.

The eager entrepreneurs who work as mobile food vendors serving the community in our city parks would make Dothan more inviting, it would ease the logistics of sports teams and fans seeking a quick meal or treat, and would increase the city’s sales tax revenues. It would also benefit the mobile food vendors to become profitable.

The large customer base that frequents city parks needs and wants to be served. Mobile food vendors receive repeated requests to come to where they are inside the city parks.
