This petition focuses on the seniors of Doris Johnson Senior High, who are being denied the chance to experience a drive-thru. The seniors have went through three years of long school days and nights trying to make it through high school. Some even joined extra curricular activities to help give back to their community and to uplift and appreciate their school. Now is the time for them to appreciate their seniors. They are being ignored every time they ask about the graduation. It has come to our attention that the Ministry of Education has ordered for the planning of graduation to come to a pause. However there has been multiple public schools that have hosted drive-thru graduations where students can drive up and receive their awards and diploma. Why can’t Doris Johnson do the same for their students? Due to the effects of COVID19 we understand that a traditional graduation ceremony is out of the question, but the MOE is allowing drive through graduations. Yet the administration of Doris Johnson Senior High is still depriving its seniors of this once in a lifetime opportunity, to have a high school graduation. Additionally, Doris Johnson Senior High held a ceremony to appreciate the Teacher of the Year, but cannot have a simple drive-thru graduation for their graduates.
