Don’t Make Philly Workers Choose Between their Job and their Health
Every day in Philadelphia, hundreds of thousands of people go to work – even if they are sick. No one should have to choose between their job and their health. The reality is that workers are forced to make this decision every day.
Proposed city legislation would provide "earned sick days" for thousands of Philadelphians, allowing them to care for loved ones, stay at home with a sick child, or ensure that their own illness does not spread to coworkers. The Coalition for Healthy Families and Workplaces – a group of over 60 local organizations – is fighting for earned sick days in Philadelphia.
210,000 workers in Philadelphia have no paid sick days. Help us build momentum for important legislation to change this by joining our fight now.
Sick days should be a no-brainer. Sick workers are bad for the health of fellow workers, bad for their families, and bad for business. We want to make sure no one has to choose between feeding their family and caring for a sick child. No one should go to work sick – and risk spreading disease to their coworkers or customers.

There are over 210,000 workers in Philadelphia without earned sick time. No one should be forced to choose between going to work sick or losing a day's pay and no parent should have to choose between feeding their kids and taking care of them when they are sick.
