Stop Funding Terrorism Supporters

The Issue

Within our Liftime is a radical terrorism supporting organization that uses Donorbox to fund itself. This is in violation of Donorbox's terms of service. We demand that Donorbox remove these extremists from their platform!

Here are the details:

According to Donorbox, "...They may, at their sole discretion, suspend and/or place an account under review for possible violation of terms..." which includes "Engaging in, encouraging, promoting, or celebrating unlawful violence or physical harm to persons or property" and "Engaging in, encouraging, promoting, or celebrating unlawful violence toward any group based on race, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, or any other immutable characteristic."

In their support of violence and terrorism, WOL has broken both terms.

WOL organization publicly supports US-designated terrorist groups such as the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and Hezbollah. WOL was co-sponsor of an event promoting and celebrating PFLP  airplane hijacker Leila Khaled. This event was removed by Zoom, Facebook, and Youtube for promoting and encouraging terrorism. Nerdeen Kiswani, co-founder and co-president of WOL, wrote a tribute to Khaled, acknowledging that she was involved in armed resistance, and posted it on Instagram. The post was removed by Instagram for violating the platform’s guidelines.  Khaled is not the only PFLP terrorist promoted and supported by WOL. Nerdeen Kiswani, Co-founder and co-president of WOL, was part of an online PFLP event featuring Khaled Barakat, a terrorist operative who had been deported from Germany. Since we began sending emails, WOL deleted their tweet promoting the event. In the past, they have also advocated for the release of other PFLP members.

Marches and rallies organized by WOL are replete with radical expressions and support for terror organizations. Within our Lifetime hosted a demonstration in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn on July 1st, 2020, titled “day of rage against Israeli annexation, racism and repression.” The PFLP flag was raised during the demonstration. During the rally, WOL leader Nerdeen Kiswani handed the microphone to a solidarity activist who shouted in Arabic: “Death to America, death to Israel.” In another demonstration on August 2020 against Israel’s annexation plans, flags of two terror groups - PFLP and Hezbollah - were raised with no objections.

Kiswani has been a vocal proponent of political violence. During a protest in 2015 she shouted: “There is only one solution – Intifada, revolution.” An Intifada is a violent uprising, and in the context involves mass terrorism. Recently in September 2020, she was heard in a video threatening to set on fire a man who was wearing a T-shirt of the Israeli Defense Forces. Nerdeen was heard saying: “I hate your shirt, I’m going to set it on fire. I'm serious,” while holding a lit lighter to the man’s shirt.

Such a history of supporting violence and terrorism is unacceptable for Donorbox to allow on their platform. Donorbox has rightly taken action against terrorism supporting organizations in the past, and must do so again.
