I saw a post on Nextdoor about the Kmart in Bridgehampton closing. I don’t know what’s happening with the sign, but there have been suggestions to donate it to Melbourne’s Time Travelers’ Society in Melbourne, Florida. It’s a student led historical society and they are attempting to open a museum to showcase Melbourne’s history and their work. They have a series where they try to collect signs from bankrupt or closing businesses so getting the Kmart sign would be helpful to them.
