As a country we have too long allowed people everywhere to believe murdering people, simply for who they love, is OK. By maintaining diplomatic relations with countries like Saudi Arabia we are sending a message to gay people all over the globe that their lives are not a priority. Should it come as a surprise to us that so many people are motivated to kill gays (and other LGBT) when our own government.. Democrats and Republicans alike.. Are compliant with the genocide of gay people in countries we maintain diplomatic relations with. To maintain these relationships is to say to the millions of gay men and women in america that our tax dollars will be used to fun the murder of their own people. It is up to us, clear minded men and women of America to rein in our government which clearly has no regard for the lives of gay (and other LGBT) Americans. For every time we FAIL to stand up for gay people in countries we consider to be allies. We FAIL to send the message to would-be mass murderers that gay people are worthy of respect. This petition calls on both presidential nominees to, come 2017, end all formal relationships with countries committing the systematic murder of Gay (LGBT) people.
