In the US 80 million people are active on tiktok, an app that is social media like never before. Your videos can reach an enormous audience with help of the for you page algorithm expertly created by tiktok. Many Americans even receive money off of the videos they create. As you can imagine, millions around the country are enraged at the possibility of the US government banning the popular app.I believe a large motivation of removing tiktok is for President Trump to rid Gen Z of a powerful platform that has been used to target him( the Tulsa empty seat prank). And as for the fear of “Chinese technology” I don’t believe real harm can come from the company viewing our iPhone history and I HIGHLY doubt a reputable, well-meaning company would get involved with the Chinese government in order to share our phone data. Even if they did get involved with the government( again, I doubt it) what would the Chinese government even be able to do with the iPhone data received from our phones? Unless Us officials or government members have tiktok on their devices I’m 99% sure no data which could endanger us or reveal private government information would get into their hands. As for the last point, there are THOUSANDS of Chinese made apps some such as beauty plus being highly popular in our country. For that reason, why should tiktok  get the main attention?
