Stormy Cofer Gets Life In Prison For A Self Defense Killing

Stormy Cofer Gets Life In Prison For A Self Defense Killing
The Issue
In September 2015, former student and mother Stormy Nichole Cofer, was prosecuted at the 9th Judicial District Court Parish of Rapides in Louisiana. Ms. Cofer was a first time offender with no prior convictions. At the time Ms. Cofer was a student destined to be a pivotal part of society, an asset and not a liability. She was convicted of 2nd-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole for defending herself against and accidentally killing Keiunna Collins in the process in October 2013. Collins was dating Cofer's ex, Thompson 'Iceberg' Roberts, and that had sparked some bad blood between both ladies based on what their male counterpart was relating from one to the other. Cofer has spent the last years in prison wishing she could take that day back especially as she was raped and impregnated while in custody. This is clearly a case of unjust punishment given the witness statements of threats from Ms. Collins to Ms. Cofer; fights between both of them instigated by Ms. Collins and the box cutter recovered by EMT from Ms. Collins bra after the incident. Over the years Ms. Cofer has filed at least one appeal which proved futile. In the interest of justice we would be grateful if the President of the United States, Mr. Donald J. Trump would grant pardon upon Ms. Cofer as a first time offender whom acted in self defense. She was working assiduously to not become a social burden but a vital member within society.
