Non-violent F5 drug possession should be lowered to a misdemeanor in Trumbull County Ohio
The Issue
Drug offenders in Trumbull County Ohio have been arrested, incarcerated, and financially and socially responsible for F5 Nonviolent crimes. The most concerning is our probation sentencing of which have been from 2 to 5 years intense and regular reporting.I believe that this probation very much anticipates violations and this hindrance of our rights to travel as equal Americans and to actually have some peace of mind after our drug rehabilitation and incarceration to start over never really is achievable because of the stress and debt that we have to endure with the probation officers who in fact are overwhelmed by the case loads. They are not as they should be helping drug offenders adjust or feel anything other than the same as violent offenders or less than themselves. They will usually put their own needs first and place you back in jail and violate your terms of probation so they can have one less file on thier desks. Probation officers are obligated to help you secure stability in society of job leads, healthy resources, housing, and some positive motivation to help you achieve goals of society and of the courts and probation department. INSTEAD they focus on the money the monthly $ 20.00 or more payments, the court costs, and fines of which should have eliminated your debt of probation process all together. So to have been incarcerated, had impatient treatment like neocap, and have been made liable for court costs fines and probation fees I feel F5 drug addicts are very much being over punished and made to believe that they have a better chance at not reporting when they have a lapse. Instead they are afraid to ask for help because of probation officers routine response of the addicted clients shortcomings. Jail and motion to revoke more jail, more fines, more neocap, more disapproving looks from the common plea judge, and a prosecutor who only wants to reflect his triumph over these dually disabled adults. The problem goes on and on while people who have higher felonies received less time in jail and treatment.!??? Its costing the state of ohio signifigant dollars and resourses. Because majority can't pay probation fees monthly, or court costs ever. Drug possession F5 clients not only are faced with all the above mentioned unjustified consequences but they also have license forfeiture and a registration block put against them as another barrier to become independent. Recovering clients need to be vacated from probation for F5 Nonviolent crimes and resources need to be used to actually help and individualize more serious felons to help orchestrate these American Mothers and Fathers back into the lives of their children, mothers, fathers, wives, and husbands instead of lockdown and financial obliteration* Help me finally get this issue on the table for discussion in Ohio's Capitol. Trumbull County of Ohio's common pleas courtrooms are being over bearing on a suffering individual who only wants to be free of his/her disease and to have a sense of self accountability. A victim themselves of alcoholism and the disease of addiction has never been cured by fear of probation officers or being locked up. Its cure is more likely to arise from peace of mind financial forgiveness and Self worth but most of all Freedom..
