Make Halloween and November 1 a Federal Holiday

Make Halloween and November 1 a Federal Holiday
The Issue
There has been a call for Halloween to be changed from October 31 to the last Saturday in October. But it would make much more sense to simply make October 31 and November 1 Federal holidays.
This would ensure the proper respect for tradition in the traditional date that is been celebrated for over 100 years in America. In addition closing all Federal offices for two days would save tens of millions of dollars. Children get out the day after Halloween off in case their tummies hurt. People wouldn’t have to worry about staying out late trick-or-treating. Plus they would have the added benefit of not succumbing to those smarty-pants you always think they have a better way to do things.
It would be even more effective to enact laws that required all businesses to be closed on these two days with the exception of emergency services. Let’s have some Halloween fun folks.
