Elijah McClain, Elijah was a young black man. One late evening he went to his local store. He wore a mask because it made him feel safe. He bought his stuff and did a little bow to show his appreciation to the store, he’s family said he did that when he was thankful. Now he left the store. Walking home cops stop him. He asks what his doing wrong and the cops take off there body cameras. He stops his music and the police start chucking him around. He didn’t fight back, he told them who he was. He didn’t have a gun, he stated that a couple of times. He was a teen who didn’t like being social. He was just walking home. Through the video you can hear him pleading for his life, “ I don’t have a gun, I don’t do that kind of stuff I don’t even eat meat I’m a vegetarian.” You hear him state over and over again. Elijah lost his life that night for no reason. All because he was a black man wearing a mask. And if you were getting stopped and mistreated by a police officer, but Elijah didn’t because he was a kind boy who wouldn’t hurt a fly. After killing him the three police officers took a selfie. After killing an innocent man. And an innocent family lost there son because a police officer misjudged a man by the colour of his skin. This is not over. Black lives matter isn’t a trend.
