Help save my mother from a covid death sentence

Help save my mother from a covid death sentence

The Issue

My mother, Katina Candrick#39629177 is currently housed at Bryan Federal Prison Camp, Bryan TX.
My Mom was sent to prison when I was only 15 years old and my disabled brother was only 9 years old, we are now 26 and 20. She has been incarcerated over 10 years now, not only that but she has several of the COVID 19 risk factors, she is 44 years old, african american, hypertension, BMI over 30, and an immuno deficiency in which she has been on iron for years. It has been horrible growing up without our mother especially with my grandmother and grandfather ( my mother's mom and dad) passing away while she has been gone. All we have are memories of her being the best mother she could to us and loving us unconditionally

My mother is human and she deserves to be home with us especially during this pandemic. I fear that she will catch Covid and not receive the care she needs and we will be unable to see her at all. My family is very affected by the criminal justice system and COVID 19. Incarcerated persons, and their families on the outside, are among the most economically disadvantaged people in the country. My mother has been incarcerated far to long for a white collar non-violent offense.

The job market has collapsed and I am a mother of 4 and only able to work DoorDash and try to home school my kids.I need my mother's help. I am hard pressed to make ends meet and be the support for her rehabilitation.
I am asking you to please sign this petition to reunite my mother with the family that she has left.
In my mother's time in prison she has helped us to graduate high school through her emails educating and encouraging us to not make the same mistakes she has in the past. My mother has done more than enough time and has also been giving back to society #survivingcofed19

Below is a letter that my mother has written.

My name is Katina Candrick 39629177; CLEMENCY#C289748 and I am currently incarcerated at the FPC Bryan Camp. I have served almost 11 years on a 15 year sentence. My charges are non-violent and is white collar

It's hard to accept fault in yourself. When you get tired of the same results as I have you will stop making yourself be the victim. Prison has challenged me and humbled me, lifted me up and shrank me down sometimes all at once. The most important factor of authority is accountability. To be accountable is to be obliged to answer for actions or responsible for a fault if it occurs. Therefore, I take full responsibility for my actions of lack of awareness, faulty judgment, lack of insight, habilitation and poor reality testing. Changes had to be made, and they had to be made from the inside out.I am truly remorseful for my past actions that led to my incarceration. My hope is that the victims of my poor choices and bad decisions accepts my sincere apology and see that the woman from over a decade ago has changed and is not the woman I am today. In my irrational thought process I have made many bad decisions and made poor choices. I have learned valuable tools that will help me in making better decisions.
I am merely seeking a second chance. I have lost both my parents while incarcerated and was unable to attend their funerals and I would hate to lose anyone else or for them to lose me while I am incarcerated.
I have completed several programs and classes listed below to improve my success for gainful employment and becoming a law abiding citizen upon my release.Cosmetology Certificate Program, Women's Health, Women Empowerment Beyond, Business, Grant Writing, Medical/Billing and Coding Certification, Career in Real Estate, Parenting, Faith Based PArenting,m Basic Essentials of Leadership, Personal Finance, Pilates, Organizational Behavior, Paralegal Studies Certification, Small Business Certification, Lean Six Sigma, Employment Initiative, Building Relationships, Building Family Relationships, Overall Wellness, Drug Education, Non-Res Drug Education and many more.
In closing this is a cry for mercy and I sincerely hope that President Donald Trump will have compassion to consider me a candidate for commutation as he has for others in the past pre-Covid.
