In March of this year, the Abbott Government eventually gave in and agreed to offer our ADF an annual payrise of 2% per year over the next three years. Although they denied this, this petition had a major influence on that backdown. At the time we pushed for this to be backdated, but they response was that it would be paid in the next pay cycle. To date (May 18th), there has been no payment of this increase paid to any ADF member. The Abbott Government continues to treat our ADF with contempt and dismisses our calls to provide them with this increase now. Recent announcements have shown the depth to which this LNP Government will go to undermine all aspects of our military service personnel whether serving today or in the past, including removing the support for homeless and orphaned children of ADF members who have fought and died for this country.
