The Issue

We’re not able to go home. Our house was destroyed. It was bombed after we left", says Daria, 41, a Ukrainian immigrant and mother of four, who fled the war and took refuge in Florida.

Since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, nearly 240,000 Ukrainians have found refuge in the US through humanitarian parole, escaping war and devastation. The program - active under Joe Biden - allowed those in danger to obtain two-year work permits to live and work in the US.

Earlier this year, the Trump administration stopped accepting new applications for the program from Ukrainians - terminating all parole programs.

Now, the Trump administration is considering revoking the status of all Ukrainians who found refuge in the US, leaving them vulnerable to deportation and an uncertain future.

It’s been like a nightmare. We are scared and we feel uncertain of everything around us,” said Daria to NBC.

Ukrainians were promised safety.

Ending parole would send them back to a war zone, where ongoing missile attacks have destroyed their homes, infrastructure, and lives.

Stripping their parole would betray the promise our country made.

We demand that the Trump administration protect humanitarian parole for Ukrainians who fled war, allowing them to stay safely in the US.
