Wind in the Willows Early Childhood Education has been a cornerstone of  care and learning in Bassendean for so many families, including my own.

My children flourished in its nurturing environment, under the care of skilled and dedicated educators. It is an absolute treasure for Bassendean as a community based, not-for-profit service with the Bassendean and Ashfield services both consistently rated as exceeding the NQS.

The Town of Bassendean has written to families advising they wish to sell this much-loved childcare to a private provider, with the decision to be made at a Special Council Meeting on 31 March. 

This is particularly concerning at a time when there have been so many news reports highlighting disparities in quality between public and private childcare centres, with private entities prioritising profit over quality care.

We call on the Town of Bassendean to halt plans for sale of our treasured Willows.
