The Issue

The J.H. Campbell coal plant was scheduled to close on May 31. That date came with a promise: a promise to move Michigan forward, protect our health, and invest in clean, safe energy.

Now, the Trump administration has ordered this outdated, polluting plant to keep running, despite no actual energy emergency. Michigan regulators have made it clear: we have more than enough power. Keeping this plant open is not only unnecessary, it's dangerous.

Coal is toxic. It poisons our air, worsens asthma, and contributes to climate disasters. The longer this plant stays open, the more lives are at risk. Every day of delay puts our communities, our kids, and our planet in harm’s way.

This is not about power shortages. This is about politics, and it's people who will pay the price.

We demand the Campbell plant shut down immediately, as originally scheduled. Let’s keep our word, protect our health, and move toward a cleaner future.

Sign now to demand this plant close. No more delays, no more excuses.
