Margaret, the Maximo Seafood Shack's owner, took 5 years to get the business where it is now. The Shack was built on her shoulders and sweat equity. IGY Marinas and Bixby Bridge Capital's twelve weeks to move out and find a new location is unrealistic.
I argue they knew exactly what they were doing. We have IGY Marinas telling Broadwater, the Shack is a part of the future here. Bixby Bridge Capital's Steve Fass told Margaret she had two years. Then recanted in the Tampa Bay Times Article. So who are we to believe? Out-of-towners who can't get their story straight or Margaret?
NEW LOCATION
Margaret and friends are searching for a location. This is a roller coaster ride. She does not have the working capital to move into a new place. There is a lot of risk on her shoulders.
She has a place in mind. Costs are being scoped but the cost analysis is not kind. In parallel she is exploring Small Business Association and other loan options. She is wondering if she can build this on her own with little capital and tired shoulders.
FILM CREW WEDNESDAY
A film crew is making a documentary of the Shack, They will be there Wednesday during lunch. They will be covering the Shack until the Shack's last day. If you wish to share your Shack experience, there will be a release to sign. As you walk up, there will be signs posting that we are filming.

CUSTOMER COMMENTS:
St. Pete — This place is one of the positive places in the area and we need more of them not less.
California — We come back to Florida every year to visit old Florida. We eat at the shack several times per visit, with all our local family. This is terrible!
Indiana — The food is awesome and I love the "old shack" character!
St. Pete — The Shack is the most important Maximo business. The city is providing a million in tax incentives to revitalize the area. We cannot allow our tax dollars to be used to attract non-local big box chain restaurants while an iconic local business is pushed aside. Save the Shack!
Florida — The Shack represents a successful American Dream. Small businesses deserve community support and legislative protection!!! Save the shack!!!!
St. Pete — Mike Metz was a very dear friend of mine. My daughter and i spent hours chit chatting with him and Dennis Mietz while of course grabbing the very best fresh seafood from our own gulf waters.
Winter Haven — I love eating here when I'm in town from ORLANDO. To many franchise Restaurants serving plastic food

YESTERDAY's POST
There were some who did not appreciate the tone. While others very much did appreciate the tone. Here is my rebuttal.
Come 4 July, Maximo Seafood Shack starts removing equipment. Margaret will lose her dream. Five employees will be unemployed. Suppliers will have lost a customer. Margaret will have lost a successful business that she has worked hard to build over last five years. Our neighborhoods will have lost a gathering spot. While the City does nothing. Not even to lift a finger.
Darden Rice stopped by to have lunch and did not offer to talk to Margaret. The Skyway Marina District Manager stopped by, said hello while Margaret was talking to Tribune. Margaret asked her to comment. She declined. Steve Kornell called. Seems no one in the City wants to get involved, roll up their sleeves to help save a successful woman-owned, vet-owned business.
Yet the Mayor can meet with the Rays to keep them here. Council can write agreements to save the Rays. But none of them will stand up for our Maximo Seafood Shack.
Now imagine this was happening to you.
I was very fair.
