Steven van de Velde is a beach volleyball player and convicted child rapist. He was convicted and served only a single year in jail for sexually assaulting a 12 year old girl when he was 20 years old. Despite his reprehensible actions and complete lack of remorse, The Netherlands is allowing him to represent the Dutch Men's beach volleyball team in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Considering what he's done and the fact that children will be present at the 2024 olympics, he should under no circumstances be allowed to compete. In fact, he should be in prison.
