Helix Charter Highschool is trying to change the entire bell schedule for the 2024-2025 school year. Class will go from being 80 minutes to 94 minutes, there will no longer be tutorial on Monday-Thursday, tutorial will only be before school on Fridays, and we will no longer have a nutrition break. This is NOT beneficial for students, tutorial being spread throughout the week means flexible availability for ALL students, and help will be available more than just 1 day a week. Nutrition break also provides students a chance to rest their minds for a little and catch up with friends they might not get to see throughout the day. Even teachers are complaining about the schedule, saying that is an unnecessary change that will cause problems for a lot of students. This abrupt change might also stress lots of students out, especially ones who are nearing the end of their high school career.
