Don't be drastic, Say “NO” to PLASTIC!!!

The Issue

What if I say that "Plastic will be the main ingredient of all our future generation's recipes?" Some might take it as a joke and some may feel that I've gone crazy, but believe me if the use of PLASTIC especially SINGLE-USE PLASTIC doesn't decreases then that day is not very far when humans will be eating plastic like nowadays stray animals are eating, the difference is just that those animals don't know the result of eating plastic but we, humans know the whole reality of plastic and still pretending not to know.

If we talk about India then according to the records from the year 2019-20, India generates 3.6 lakh million tonnes of plastic waste every year. Let's not go to the national level, we all know about Delhi, right? The national capital of India, it's just a city and not even counted as state so, it's better to start with some factual data "NEW DELHI: A new report titled 'State of India's environment 2022' released by Centre for Science and Environment says Delhi generates 689.8 tonnes of plastic waste daily- the highest among India's metropolitan cities."

Do you see the picture given above? Yes, this is exactly what happens after we throw the used plastic in dustbin. How? Let me tell you, once you throw the plastic in dustbin, then it is taken by the garbage picker or garbage picking vans, it is dumped by them to the landfill sites, the children living in slum areas come there in search of something which may be considered as interesting, but did we ever think what if the toxic chemicals present in the plastic become the cause of any disease by which these children can be affected badly? And please don't think it's the end of the story against plastic, this trash is then burned to eradicate it which causes air pollution in severe amount.

Our one step, just one step from each and every person against plastic can change the world and mainly save the world from going towards destruction. We don't have to do much things, what we have to do is avoid using single-use plastic, I mentioned the word single-use plastic because there are some types of plastic which can be recycled and it is advised to recycle the plastic we use but for now just stop using single-use plastic. Single-use plastic is mostly used in plastic bags, we have many alternatives for plastic bags like paper bag, cloth bag or jute bag. There are alternatives for other things also and even if there aren't then can't we think for it? Just 10 minutes everyday, think about how to save our motherland.

It is well said "The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it." So let's save our earth with our own hands and remember, just 10 minutes out of 1440 minutes(24 hours) and make the world a better place.
