During the COVID-19 pandemic, DA students have missed out on a lot, especially the class of 2021. Many schools have decided to give students a snow day tomorrow and many of the students at DA feel that administration should do the same for us. We have missed out on countless rights of passage and special time with our friends. For the class of 2021, this may be our last snow day ever. Administration has the opportunity to preserve one of the timeless joys of childhood for a senior class who has not been able to properly say goodbye to their youth as we head into adulthood. Normally, DA students would eagerly await the announcement that school would be closed due to the snow. We urge you to remember the joy you once felt as students when a snow day was announced. 20 years from now, DA students are much more likely to remember the snow day they received during an impossible situation rather than a day of classes, sitting at our computers as we have done for close to a year now. Although we know that it is a challenging decision to make due to the amount of lost class time, we also would like the administration to put themselves in our shoes as we lose precious time with family and friends and precious memories. Please consider following the lead of our peers Xavier and TMLA and make tomorrow, February 1, a snow day.
