Rainbow High is a doll line under the MGA label with high quality clothing and dolls. However ironically for a doll line that is supposed to be about showing various colors, it sure doesn't show that with the skin tones of the dolls. There is a huge lack of representation within the dolls and the reason why representation is very important, especially for younger children who are easily influenced, is so people of color finally feel represented rather than pushed aside to be 'side characters'. The lack of diversity in hair textures, face molds, cultures, skin tones, and even fashion styles is unfortunate especially in this day in age. It all comes down to the creator of rainbow high and MGA for approving these designs. We need to have a better designer to make the doll line more diverse and not white wash the characters. And we as doll collectors shouldn’t have to pick over quality or diversity. The doll line has also been know for queer baiting characters such as Bella and Jade, and never doing anything with them leaving fans mad and unrepresented.
