How would you feel if your pet was taken from your backyard and then sold into the dog and cat meat trade industry? After these animals are taken they are sold into this industry that marks the start of their short and abused lives that will end in brutal murder and then they will be consumed by humans. None of these animals deserve to be treated like this, they deserve to have hope they deserve happiness. There are many things that can be put into place to help end this disgusting trade. First don't eat dog or cat meat whether or not you live in an area where this is occurring. By doing so this can slow down the market for this type of meat and save many animals. We can also protest the Yulin dog meat festival. "The Yulin Dog Meat Festival is an annual celebration held in Yulin, Guangxi, during the summer solstice in which festival-goers eat dog meat. The festival began in 2009 and spans about ten days between June 19-30th during which it is estimated that 10,000 – 15,000 dogs are tortured and then consumed. Cat meat, fresh lychees, and liquor are also available at the festival." (https://nodogsleftbehind.com/stop-yulin/)By protesting this terrible yearly festival we can potentially help to end it. We can also get involved by signing petitions on this topic of matter and sharing our thoughts on social media. By sharing our thoughts we can spread awareness of this issue to those who might not know it still happens in other parts of the world. By doing any of these solutions we can show that we are against it and get others to stand with us and eventually our message will be heard enough and hopefully lead to an end to this disgusting trade once and for all.
