Our area is in the midst of a healthcare crisis. COVID 19 is quickly spreading. Area healthcare resources are stretched thin such that adequate healthcare cannot be provided to the general public.

There has been misinformation circulated about the threat of the virus and importance of slowing spread. At times, it has been hard to obtain COVID testing. 

Masks reduce the spread of COVID 19 and do not have a significant harmful effect on those wearing them.

Governor Abbott passed a law making it mandatory for the public to wear masks while in public places. The governor left it to local authorities to enforce the law. A mandate to enforce this law can save lives. In addition, a law can be passed encouraging businesses to enforce mask wearing for customers and employees.
