Doctor Doug from Gold Fm has become one of the most popular radio personalities with locals and ex pats here in the Cayman Islands over the years. He shared his story and approved this petition.

Following months of unfair treatment by management at Compass Media/Dart Entertainment by radio manager Doctor Doug was dismissed on from Gold fm without cause.  Mark Lee is the reason,

In order for Doctor Doug to receive his compensation due, Compass Media/Dart Entertainment required him to sign a 'mutual agreement ' of separation. When he refused to sign the paperwork insisting his dismissal wasn't mutual Compass Media/ Dart Entertainment then issued a statement that Doctor Doug  quit Gold FM with immediate effect and refused to pay the compensation promised.

We have spoken to Doug and he gives his approval for this petition.

Doctor Doug has a large loyal following In Cayman because his upbeat morning show but also his work on island for good. 

Doctor Doug has been a big advocate for the animals on island and has helped raise awareness and $ for various animal welfare charities and advocated for new attention to outdated animal welfare laws. He spoke on responsible pet ownership which we supported on his show.  Doug has also given his time and voice to help raise millions of dollars for the Breast Cancer Foundation, Cayman Heart Fund, Cayman Islands Cancer Society, YMCA, Meals On Wheels, Sunrise Rotary, Jazmin Hospice, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Cayman Islands little league and many other organizations.   Doctor Doug has worked closely to assist schools and groups raising funds and awareness for programs such as the island wide Flowers Swim Free Program, Boys 2 Men Cayman mentoring program, Lighthouse School, Hope Acadamy Foundation, The Chamber Of Commerce Mentoring program, Cayman Finance Mentorship program, the Cayman Islands Motorcycle Association charity events , Jeep 345 Group youth fundraisers , Cayman Islands Angling Association and more.

Unlike other foreigners on the radio in Cayman, Doctor Doug dedicated himself to learning and sharing on his radio show about Cayman's amazing culture and spoke of honoring that culture.  Doctor Doug was involved with Cayman National Cultural Foundation, The Ministry Of Culture and Heritage, The Cayman Islands National Museum, The Cayman Islands Veterans Association and The Miss Cayman Islands Universe Pageant.  Doug was also deeply involved with The CI Seafarer Foundation, met with the seafarers and gave his voice to promote books that honored those legends .  Doug often had C.I. ministers and historians on his show to speak about Cayman's rich history and he was one of a handful of foreign nationals who participated in the discussion about the National Culture and Heritage strategic plan.  He advocated for Caymanian's who suffered with addiction in his work promoting the Hope For Today Foundation and those suffering silently as he assisted the Alex Panton Foundation in multiple endeavors.

The Radio Operation manager Mark Lee who has said he is anti-Caymanian  will replace Doctor Doug with yet another work permit holder that knows nothing of the island, the history, culture, the people of Cayman or the local accomplishments of his predecessor. We have tried to contact Mark for his explanation, and he won't reply. 

Please let Compass Media management including radio manager Mark know    Mlee@compassmedia.ky and also the sales office manager Cheryl Cbirch@compassmedia.ky and  Sales@compassmedia.ky  . Let them know they are dishonest about firing Doctor Doug AND let their advertisers know the truth: The listeners of Gold FM including lifelong Caymanians are unhappy with this bad decision to dismiss Doctor Doug and their lies about why he is not there to cover themselves with listeners disappointed.

We demand Doctor Doug return and will continue to complain to Compass Media and Dart Entertainment and will boycott Gold FM and its advertisers until their management who fired the favorite radio host unfairly.  This anti Caymanian management staff needs to hear from the public.
