Following the overwhelming success of The Super Mario Bros movie at the box office, you'd undoubtedly be working on the next movie you have up your sleeves.

Second to Mario, the most iconic video game series in your portfolio is The Legend of Zelda. The prospect of a Zelda movie is very exciting to fans the world over. With so much history, depth, nostalgia, and lore to draw from, the source material is practically limitless.

In recent weeks new rumours have surfaced that a Zelda movie may be going ahead in partnership with Illumination. This has fans quite worried. While Illumination is undoubtedly an animated movie powerhouse, their movies are not known for being deep, thought provoking, or even interesting. It's strongly felt by the community that a movie under their direction would not do Zelda justice.

We instead look to the most respected and revered animation studio right on your doorstep, Studio Ghibli. It would be a travesty to ignore such an iconic company, well known for their deep, meaningful, and beautiful films. We urge you to enter talks with Studio Ghibli to truly give Zelda the iconic movie it deserves. Miyamoto san, if you ever read this, you and your team have poured your hearts and souls into Zelda over the past 25 years, please, do right by it.
